The Melody dress is a striking forties look shirtwaister style, replicated from an original vintage garment. Made of an all-natural, lightweight and breathable pure cotton-linen blend fabric.  Melody is a stylish A-line day dress with feature pockets, sure to be beloved by any vintage fashion enthusiast. The Berry red colourway is a rich, flattering pink-red shade, perfect for spring-summer weather.

Reproduced from a true vintage forties dress, right down to the smallest details like the three large feature buttons on the bodice.

The bodice also features a relaxed Havana style collar and a chevron-shaped shoulder yoke with an inset pocket on each side. This is reversed in the design of the skirt, which features two inset pockets in an arrow shape. These diagonal lines in the design subtly minimise the waist and emphasise the shoulders and skirt, creating a flattering, retro silhouette.

Short sleeves and an A-line skirt reflect the iconic 40s shirtwaister style. There are also subtle gathers atop the sleeve where they join the shoulder seam.

Metal side zipper to fasten.

The fabric of the Melody is lighter weight like the original to allow for the bodice detail but means it is slightly sheer so you may wish to wear a slip or neutral undergarments with it.

Like all our Socialite range, only small numbers are produced to keep them exclusive. 

55% cotton, 45% linen. Wash at 30 degrees. Iron with warm heat. Do not tumble dry. Dry in shade.
